Gratitude’s never too far from reach here at Velaspan. Our employees, our vendors, our partners, our clients – they’re our winning ingredients, beyond our wildest wishes, and much of the reason Velaspan can now count 21 Thanksgivings (!) in business.
And this fall we have yet another reason to be grateful:
Velaspan started its foray into cybersecurity and private cellular network (PCN) technology about four years back. We knew PCN was on the brink of relevance and adoption; however, its journey to the mainstream proved more molasses-like than hoped. Although use cases abounded of businesses that would benefit from this transformational wireless mobility alternative, vendors both new and old worked to refine their solutions, and awareness lagged. We were confident that PCN’s day was coming. We just didn’t know when.
The answer, it turns out, is 2025.
Almost overnight this past summer, interest in private cellular went from a trickle to a steady stream, with no end in sight. Slam-dunk use cases are now knocking on our door. Truthfully…knock on wood…it feels a bit like the early 2000s, when WiFi fervor finally hit after a sluggish start. Our team no longer met blank stares at barbeques and parties when we said we designed WiFi for a living – a good feeling that quickly became good business.
While no one expects private cellular to replace or even match WiFi, if it enjoys even a modicum of WiFi’s success, Velaspan will have yet another reason to count our blessings.
Not that we need more reasons.
