Velaspan Named One of Lehigh Valley’s Top Workplaces

Where Wi-Fi Connects and Employees Thrive.

Our secret: the people. On March 4th, Velaspan received The Morning Call’s Top Workplace 2020 award at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, one of only 25 small employers (35-120 employees) to be honored as the Lehigh Valley’s best places to work.

Velaspan also took home the coveted Employee Appreciation award, a singular award given to a company whose employees report high levels of satisfaction.

“Since day one, our goal has been to create a work environment that is both challenging and fun,” says Kerry Kulp, Velaspan founding partner. “One where employees are encouraged to bring ideas forward, have autonomy to own their projects, and enjoy a collaborative, team-oriented work environment. We’re honored that our team feels and appreciates these efforts.”

Now in its eighth year, the annual Top Workplaces program ranks regional businesses based on engagement surveys completed by submitting company employees. The survey gauges satisfaction across a number of areas including salaries, flexibility, management style, and work culture. Submissions are blinded, and answers are made available to leadership once winners are announced. Still, several of Velaspan’s employees were happy to make their feedback known.

Kyle Bond, a Client Care Specialist celebrating ten years with Velaspan this month, describes Velaspan’s culture as “driven by the quality of the people who work here. The team atmosphere and community spirit flow down from the top and permeate the organization.”

James Thrasher, Systems Engineer, adds, “Velaspan provides us with the necessary resources to explore and develop our skill sets based on our personal and professional goals. No other company I’ve worked for has been able to balance such a challenging yet rewarding model while maintaining a motivating and engaging culture.”

Just as important to Velaspan as these accolades is the constructive feedback that the surveys provide.

“We continually discuss how to improve Velaspan’s work environment and how to maintain an engaged team, so we enjoy the chance to read how our team members truly feel,” says David Bond, founding partner.
